Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with the aim of improving flexibility, increasing circulation in the joints, and cultivating awareness of the inner self. The poses in yin are held for a longer period of time in order to stimulate the deeper connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and joints, which typically are not exercised in active styles of yoga. Yin yoga is a perfect comple- ment to a dynamic (yang) style and is suitable for all levels of students. You will also learn to incorporate the use of props (bolsters, blankets, and blocks).
